I admit to being a very reluctant convert to baseball card collecting since being burned many years ago.

I have so many cards im thinking of getting graded that to me look great but how hard is it to get a high grade. In fact most cards once graded will return less than if they were sold raw. If you get the card graded and sealed and then get a low grading it may turn customers off so make sure its at least mint 8 but 9 or 10 is preferable.

Every card or collectible graded by psa uses the psa 10 point grading scale which has been accepted and supported industry wide since 1991. Grading a baseball card is just a process of evaluating the condition of the cards and assigning a numerical grade according to the result of the evaluation.
The rest do not carry any value. There was a time when the value of old baseball cards that were graded was always higher than those that were not. The professional sports authenticator otherwise known as the psa is the most common grader for sports cards. We make money either way.
If you insist on getting your cards graded please do yourself a favor and send only few to test the results. Psa sgc and beckett are main grading companies that i recommend. Please understand that we are totally agnostic and unbiased when it comes to professionally graded cards. You can look it up on the internet and find it pretty easily too im sure.
